Welcome to Mrs. Dossett's 7th Grade Geography Page!

 

Are you ready to spend the school year exploring the world?  In 7th grade geography we will visit countries all over the world, researching and discussing each region's history, geographical features, climate, culture, daily life. 

 Expectations:

  • come prepared (assignment book, pencil, notebook, computer (when necessary)
  • be an active learner - ask questions
  • participate in class discussions
  • treat others with respect
  • complete assigned work
7th grade social studies standards:

Indicator 1: Analyze information from geographic representation, tools, and technology to define location, place, and region.
7.G.1.1. Students are able to select appropriate resources, data services, and geographic tools to interpret information. 

7.G.1.2. Students are able to apply location, direction, size, and/or shape to maps. 

7.G.1.3. Students are able to identify characteristics of various locations, places, and regions. 

7.G.1.4. Students are able to identify population distribution, growth rates, and characteristics of human populations.

Indicator 2: Analyze the relationships among the natural environment, the movement of peoples, and the development of societies.
7.G.2.1. Students are able to identify natural environmental changes that impact regions and settlement patterns. 

7.G.2.2. Students are able to identify how humans impact and are affected by the natural environment. 

7.G.2.3. Students are able to describe the impact of the natural environment on settlement patterns.
